Itchy Lawn - Ep. 183

Wind swept through the landscape. A large tumbleweed blew from the west to the east, a scene far too familiar to a Western movie aficionado. In the distance, murmurings of nerds and reporters battled the wind, attempting to be heard. Fluorescent lighting beaded down from overhead, illuminating the carpeted floor. It was perfectly clean, as no footsteps had tread on it for quite some time.

A sneaker came into view as it stepped onto the floor, making a slight squeak as it groaned in protest. The sneaker had seen better days, stepping on floors in its youth and plodding down paths previously unknown. It knew that its life was close to ending, but it still held on for a little while longer.

Both sneakers pushed forward, thrusted onward by the man wearing them. He was covered in a hazmat suit and helmet, looking at the barren show floor. He held his camera phone in one hand as he panned around, showing the nothing that existed here.

“As you can see, the company that was supposed to be here skipped,” the man started. “Yes, I am surprised that they didn’t show up. Shame on…”
