Final Fantasy 7

Episode 313 - Overrated Games from the 90s

This week we talk about which games from the 90s get more love than they deserve. They aren’t terrible, but mom’s favorite is clear, and we all chipped in on that gift anyway, so it’s not like her disdain for the rest of us is remotely valid.

After that we talk about what we’ve been playing this week: Resident Evil Village: Winters Expansion, A Plague Tale: Requiem, Infernax, Marvel Snap, and Cyberpunk 2077.

Episode 272 - Most Influential Games of the 90s

This week we talk about which game from the 90s we think is the most influential. Blood was spilled, but it’s okay… we had another guy.

We also talk about a couple games we’ve been playing lately. We finally had the chance to talk about Halo Infinite, and Josh has been playing a ton of Final Fantasy 14.

Words Are Hard - Ep. 243 Part 1

Welcome to the most recent episode of the Chompcast! It’s so great to have you here. In part 1 of this special 2-part episode, we discussed the games we played this past week: Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intermission, Biomutant, and Backbone. We also discussed our social media poll results, and boy were they fun! Check back in a few days for part 2 where we discuss what makes up a wonderful voice acting performance!

Wive Fwom Bwookwyn - Ep. 206

I want you to think back for a moment on a game that you played when you were younger. Particularly, a game that you love and you hold close to your heart. A game that warms your heart and soul; one that puts a smile on your face as you reminisce of the times that you spent exploring that world. You’ve got one? Good.

Now I want you to be objective for a moment. Try your best to remove all of the nostalgia that you feel for the game. Does that story hold up now? What elements about that story make it hold up and stay relevant? What elements of the story make it feel dated?

On this week’s episode, we attempted to answer that question to the best of our ability, as we wanted to discuss what elements of a story keep it relevant and what elements don’t lend itself to the present. We talked about Ghost of Tsushima, Untitled Goose Game, Necrobarista, and the new Battletoads game. We rounded up the show with some social media polls and some general silliness.

We hope that you enjoy the show, and that you have a lovely week!

"How do I check the faces book on here?"

"You don't, Morgan, and..." *bzzzzzt* *bzzzzzt* *bzzzzzt*... "Is that a pager? Where did you even buy a pager?"

"Ok, but I can send a photograph of my gentiles with this, right?"

"Yeah, old man. You can show everyone your gentiles."

This week on the Chompcast we are joined by guest Leslie Morales (Sector 7 Item Shop) to discuss the highs, the lows, the Reeves, and a game or two from E3 2019. We go over most of the conferences, mention what spoke to us, and run down our favorite takeaways from the show.

Join us for an epic auditory experience that will guide you a great deal closer to the heat death of the universe. Enjoy the show!

Consider the Miniature Lobster - Ep. 142

With Shea out of pocket, the crew take the opportunity to discuss his greatest fear: spoilers. Do we hate them? Do we like them? What's the time table until they're not spoilers anymore? We answer these questions and more while spoiling the all time classics you (personally) have missed.

(Yes, you, Nathan. You thought you could avoid Final Fantasy 7 spoilers, Nathan, but you can't. Cid is an astronaut who never made it to space in this one. Bam! Right in the description, Nate. You didn't even see it coming.)

Where was I?.. Yes. With the spoiler talk out of the way, the Sword Chomp crew go on to discuss an episodic release schedule for the Final Fantasy 7 remake, Morgan talks about his time with Final Fantasy 12 on Switch, Fish boils with Rage 2 (or he would if we stopped watching him), and we get Fish's thoughts on Detective Pikachu now that he's seen it.

Grab someone else's drink from the work fridge, sit back, and enjoy the show.
